More About Kate

Kate Jurevicius, M.A. CCC-SLP

Hello! I’m a certified Speech Language Pathologist through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).  I earned my Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Eastern Michigan University and have worked with both adults and children (toddler - high school age) in clinic. school-based and private settings.  Before launching my practice, I was a Speech Language Pathologist for Ann Arbor Public Schools, working with children with a wide range of language and communication impairments, including severely impaired students with complex communication needs.

Prior to my graduate work in Speech Pathology, I obtained my elementary teaching credential at San Francisco State University and my bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan.  I worked as an elementary classroom teacher and prior to that as a sales/client service associate in the educational marketing arena.  I found my calling in Speech Language Pathology later in life and now love helping children and families realize their true potential with clear, effective communication and a strong literacy foundation.

I established my private practice, Communicate With Kate, LLC, in June 2017.  My goal is to help support, educate and nurture children AND their families in improving functional communication, reading and writing skills, from the very little ones who are struggling to communicate to students with impaired speech production to struggling readers and writers. I know that when 1 family member struggles in anyway, whether academically or socially, it impacts the whole family unit. Private practice allows me to spend MORE time with children AND their families and to build strong parent/child/therapist partnerships that support the whole tribe.
