Speech and Language Evaluations

Evaluations probe into all areas of speech and language to get a comprehensive profile of a child's overall communication abilities but specific areas of concern are targeted more closely .

Areas of Evaluation

speech production

receptive/expressive language

grammar/syntax/vocabulary

social/pragmatic communication skills

Preverbal & nonverbal communication

Evaluations include a combination of standardized, norm-referenced assessments, language sampling, informal assessment, clinical observation and parent input.  Specific areas of concern (i.e. speech, social skills, expressive language) are targeted in more depth.  A comprehensive report is provided and reviewed with the parent, including recommendations for targeted therapy goals and services if the child qualifies.
